Adam Mackay leads research into AI testing methodologies and governance for safety-critical systems at
QA-Systems. With 28 years of experience in embedded software testing across aerospace, automotive, medical, and defense, he specializes in helping regulated organizations adopt AI while maintaining compliance with standards including DO-178C, ISO 26262, and IEC 62304.

His current research focuses on leveraging agentic AI to strengthen the quality and reliability of safety-critical software development. The challenge: integrating autonomous AI tools into certified processes in industries where "move fast and break things" collides with "move slow or people
die." Adam has presented at international conferences and is co-author of Embedded
Software Testing: From Fundamentals to AI (BPB, 2026).
